It gets so dark here, and the roads are not well marked and can be confusing even in the daytime. At a recent course
here, folks who stayed in Santa Fe, and at Ojo Caliente got lost for up to 2 hours trying to make it back to their lodging
at night.

TRANSPORT CHOICES
You will need to provide your own transportation at every leg between your home and Espanola!
Here is some information that you might find useful.
AIRLINE INFORMATION:
When
you fly into New Mexico, you will probably be arriving at the Albuquerque Sunport/Airport.That is the
only major airport in New Mexico. There is an airport in Santa Fe, but the airfare to that airport, I understand
is fairly expensive, and you would need to check if the shuttles would pick you up there.
For your flight, you might look into www.Southwest.com .In my opinion, they are the most economical, but they don’t show
up on the discount airfare sites.
If you get into Albuquerque with a late flight, or your flight leaves very early in the morning, you might consider
staying at a motel near the airport. Click here to get a list of hotels that are near the airport (usually on Yale Blvd.) and who generally have free shuttles to the
airport. Be sure to check with the hotel to find out if the time their shuttle runs will get you to the airport
in time for your flight. If you are taking another shuttle from your motel to Espanola, be sure to let the shuttle
folks know where you are staying. They may know it as the "Ladies' Camp area" in Sombrillo, Espanola. Your
shuttle to Espanola may be able to pick you up at your motel rather than having to go back to the airport to meet your Espanola
shuttle.
If you are driving, you
can either bypass Santa Fe on the “Relief Route, Rt. 599, Veterans Memorial Hwy.” or you can go through Santa
Fe.If you would like some special snacks or some good prepared foods to bring with you, you can stop at
Whole Foods or Sprouts in Santa Fe.Driving directions from the Airport, through Santa Fe and to those
health food stores, plus lots more information is at www.SoulAnswer.com/new_mexico.html.There are no fully stocked health food stores in Espanola.
COMPARISON
AMONG TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN THE AIRPORT AND ESPANOLA.
It is a minimum of a 1 1/2 hour drive from the Albuquerque airport to Espanola. There
is a low priced commuter train called the "Rail Runner" from the Albuquerque Sunport to Santa Fe that runs infrequently. But there is a free Shuttle from the Albuquerque
Sunport to the Train Station. Then you would need to get a shuttle from Santa Fe to Espanola.
COST--Please re-check these prices!
OPPORTUNITY
Twin Hearts Shuttle
800-654-9456
$75
round trip, $40 one way.
They will take you to either the Nivas ("old
Ladies Camp area") at about 6 Shady Lane, or to the Inn at the Delta, but probably not take you to a private home.
Their regular stop is at the DreamCather movie theater at the intersection of the Santa Fe Hwy. 84/285 and Rt. 106, Yogi Bhajan
Hwy. that leads to the Ashram. Twin Hearts timing can be off, and some of them can be gruff with you. But they
have a comparatively good price. Be sure to make your reservations ahead. Sometimes they get full. They
do not run either early in the day, or later in the evening.
If need be, check
to see if they would take you to other locations, such as a private home if you are staying with someone in the ashram,
or another hotel/motel.
Road Runner Shuttle Service
505-424-3367
$90 each way.
On time, courteous
and probably will take you where you want to go. Make your reservation ahead. They do not run either early in the day, or later in the evening.
If need be, check to see if they
would take you to other locations, such as a private home if you are staying with someone in the ashram, or another hotel/motel.
Budget Car Rental
800-527-0700
Rental of a full sized car from Feb.14 through Feb. 17, 2014 including tax, unlimited miles, and
estimated gas for 250 miles (it is about 100 miles between Albequerque and Espanola) = $227, divided by 3 people =
$87 each. This presumes that you use your own car insurance and roadside assistance.
Prices and bonuses are always changing! Click here for car rental companies in Albequerque.
With a car, if you stayed at
the Inn at the Delta, you could drive to sadhana at the ashram each morning, about 15 minutes.
Or, if you are staying at the Nivas, you can drive to sadhana in about 2 minutes.
And if you are staying anywhere else, you can drive yourself to the course at Anthony's at the Delta.
LOCAL TRANSPORT IN ESPANOLA
There is a new taxi service in Espanola who say that they run on the weekends and in the evening!
They are "Good to Go Taxi"! Call them before you leave home to be sure that they can serve all your needs:
505-753-0022. Drop flag: $3.20. Each mile: $2.70. Additional passengers:
$1 each. Wait time: $34.60. goodtogonm@gmail.com

supporting Sikh Community. Fair, flexible rates, private, confidential Logistical support, 14 passenger van, Short notice,
future reservations www.whitebuffaloshuttle.us Kevin 831-359-8077
Any other hotel or private home--you would
need your own car, a taxi, or rental car to get around Espanola. But if you had a car, you could also spend time
before or after the course seeing all of the grand sights here in Northern New Mexico. Don't miss the amazing mural
at the Gurdwara. Please cover your head and remove your shoes to enter. I believe the combo lock on the door is
1-5-6-9. More at www.SoulAnswer.com/new_mexico.html
RIDE BOARD to make connections with other yogis coming to these
courses.

of this page to get MAPS to all of our locations.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM ALBUQUERQUE, TAOS
AND CHAMA to the DreamCatcher movie theater near the Ashram are at www.SoulAnswer.com/new_mexico.html .
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From Santa Fe to the Nivas (guest house) area where you will find
the Gold House.
Drive north from Santa Fe on Rte. 84/285 about ½ hour.
At
the south side of Espanola—seemingly in the middle of nowhere, you will come to a stoplight. The
movie theater is on the far right side.Make a right there onto Rt. 106, Yogi Bhajan Hwy.
Pass
the Sombrillo Rd. intersection and Yogi Bhajan’s Ranch on the left side.
The next right
turn is Shady Lane.Turn right here. Then after the house on the corner you will see
a property on the left with an adobe wall around it.The gate to this property is called Shakti Lane and
is sort of across from 5 Shady Lane and the small drive called Prosperity Path that you will see on the right.Turn left into the gate to that property. This is the Nivas area where the original Ladies’
Camp used to be.You will see a few buildings and a stucco house on the left that is painted yellow. That house is the Gold House, which is the most used Nivas. Nirbhe Kaur will give you better directions to the
Nivas that you book.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From Santa Fe to the Ranch where the Yogi's Cave
course is being held.
From
the south end of Espanola, on the Santa Fe Highway, Rte. 84/285, at the stoplight by the movie theater, turn east which is
toward the movie theater onto Rte. 106, Yogi Bhajan Memorial Highway.
Continue on Rte. 106 for less than a mile. You will see Yogi Bhajan's
Ranch on the left. When you reach the "lower gate" to the Ranch on the left that is white wrought iron--turn RIGHT onto Shady Lane/Rte. 90A. The Cottonwood Veterinary
Clinic will be on that right corner.
Once you turn onto Shady Lane, on the left you will see a house on the corner, and then a
long adobe wall that surrounds the "old Ladies' Camp" area, the Gold house, and some other buildings. Turn
left into that gate through the adobe wall onto Shakti Lane, and park along that drive.
The second to last building on the right is Sadhana
Nivas where we will meet, check-in and complete registration, and where Amandeep Singh will begin the course. It is
close-by to where we will have lunch. Please be there between 8:30 to 9 AM on both Saturday and Sunday.
WALKING TO THE GURDWARA FOR SADHANA from the Gold House.
If
you want to walk up to the Gurdwara (temple) for early morning sadhana that runs from 4 to 6:30 AM, walk out of that Ladies’
Camp gate, cross Shady Lane, and walk up the dirt drive that is straight across the street.(This dirt
drive is just up the road to the left from Prosperity Path.)On this drive/path, you will pass a house
on your left and a number of trailers. Then continue on the path for a good ways until you reach the golden domed Gurdwara. The walk takes about 15 minutes.
Leave your shoes on the shoe rack outside, then open
the door to the Gurdwara. The combination to the lock on the Gurdwara door I believe is 1-5-6-9.That is you press each of 4 buttons in sequence, then turn the door handle. Be sure to take
your sheep skin, blanket, etc. for prayers, yoga, and wonderful sung meditations. You will need a head
covering for the last half hour kirtan (hymn singing, prayer and reading of the hokum or message for the day.)The exquisite mural in the back of the Gurdwara is not to be missed!
DRIVING TO THE
GURDWARA from the Gold House.
Coming out of the Ladies Camp property, turn left on Shady Lane. This curves around. When you meet a “T” intersection with Sombrillo Rd., make a right. Then shortly, turn right into the parking lot and walk to the large white building on your left.To
get into the locked Gurdwara, follow the directions just above.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:From Santa Fe to the golden domed
Gurdwara.
On
the right, you will pass the drive to the elementary school. Then turn right onto E. Sombrillo Rd.In a few hundred yards, on the left you will see the golden dome atop a large white building. This
is the Gurdwara and the entrance is on the courtyard, which is on the other side of the building.Just
before the Gurdwara , but next to it, you will see a wooden gazebo near the flagpoles. This is where that
wonderfully vibrant statue of Baba Siri Chand lives. Pay him a visit. You may find him
talking to you!
