From Ek Ong Kaar Kaur
Guru Nanak gave a meditation to recite the 33rd Pauree (verse) of Japji
Sahib (incredible prayer)
25 times a day, and he said that had the power to turn the worst fate, the worst
nothingness, into absolute everything!
I've been practicing this and it's been really healing. Especially around anger. I realized that the 33rd
Pauree is about acknowledging that we have absolutely no power whatsoever--that everything is in the hands of the Divine--and
that no one is higher or lower than another person.
So I thought you might want to share the technology of the 33rd Pauree with your readers as
one tool to help transform those feeling of powerlessness. It's definitely been helping me.
The power to speak Or keep silent-- I
don't have that power. I don't have the power To beg or to give. When I live, When I die-- Is far beyond my power. I have no power To rule as a King With wealth, Or though the force Of my own mental manipulations. I have no power To attach myself to God through meditation, Or to attain wisdom, Or to reflect on what I see. I have no power To know the way To liberate myself
From the world. Whose Hand Holds
this power? The One Who
does and sees all. Nanak, No
one is high And no one is low. This translation is from "Japji Sahib: The Song of the Soul" by Guru Nanak, Translated
